Next Steps

USDA is now pouring over the testimony submitted during the National Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement hearing, which lasted a month and was held at seven different locations throughout the country.  The agency is currently accepting “proposed findings and conclusions, and written arguments and briefs” based on the already received testimony, which can be viewed here. 

The deadline to submit findings, conclusions, written arguments or briefs is January 13.  Any corrections to the already submitted testimony, written or verbal, should be submitted no later than December 11.  Four copies of all filings must be submitted, with Docket No.: AO-FV-09-0138; AMS-FV-09-0029; FV09-970-1, to:

USDA has not set a date for when it plans to render a decision on the establishment of the NLGMA, though it is anticipated that the decision could be made sometime in 2010.
